I Got Food Poisoning From a Local Restaurant, What Should I Do?
If you believe that you have suffered food poisoning because of food that you purchased in a restaurant, there are several things that you should do.
Number one, if you still have any of the food left, keep it. Don't just put it on the back porch, keep it refrigerated so that it can eventually be tested to determine whether any of the dangerous pathogens that caused the food poisoning still exists in that food.
Second, contact your local health department and let them know what you ate, when you ate it and where you at it.
Third, make sure your doctor understands all the food types that you had in the 24 hours before you ate at the restaurant and what food you actually ate at the restaurant so he or she can determine the likely source of the material.
Finally, if your injuries are serious, feel free to contact us at the Law Offices of John Day. We'll be happy to investigate your case and determine if it has merit. If it does have merit we are willing to accept your case on a no recovery, no fee basis. And of course the initial consultation is free as well.
We look forward to hearing from you.
