For more than four decades, our award-winning attorneys have been helping injury victims in Green Hills. Following a serious accident, most people feel overwhelmed not just with their injuries but with the process. Not surprisingly, questions abound so we have developed a general checklist of what to do following an accident.
In addition some of the more frequent questions we are asked are:
What types of injury cases do you handle? Our experienced team of attorneys, paralegals and an on-staff nurse have more than 100 years of combined experience, and we handle all types of personal injury and wrongful death cases -- everything from drowning accidents and carbon monoxide poisoning to dog bites , brain injuries and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims. Even if your type of injury case is not listed on our Practice Areas page, which contains some of the most common types of injury cases we handle, we have probably handled it in the past and can help you with it. Simply contact our office online or call us at one of the numbers below and and talk to one of our attorneys in a free consultation.
Will it cost me anything out of pocket to hire you and make a claim? No. We advance all case expenses including the cost of obtaining your medical records, filing fees, expert fees, court reporter costs, etc. And, we only get paid if we win so you have nothing to lose by pursuing your rights. What is the likelihood I will have to go to court? The Administrative Office of the Courts tracks the number of cases filed and tried for each county in the state. In Davidson County last year, 2,157 tort cases were filed. Tort cases are claims for personal injury or wrongful death. Of the 2,157 tort cases filed, only 51 went to trial. Of those 51 trials, the injured party won 33 of them. As you can see, very few cases actually go to trial, and we know our clients do not relish the thought of going to court so we make every effort to settle your case, if we can do so for an amount that is fair to you and your family. If the defendant or insurance company refuses to be fair, John Day, a certified civil trial specialist, or one of our other experienced attorneys will not hesitate to try your case so that you can receive fair compensation.
Who is the judge that will hear my case? Davidson County has one of the busiest dockets in the State, and the following individuals can hear tort cases in Circuit Court:
